Copra is the dried, white flesh of the coconut from which coconut oil is extracted. Traditionally, the coconuts are sun-dried, before the oil, also known as copra oil, is pressed out.
Coconut meal is an excellent addition to the horse's diet providing a readily digestible source of fat, protein, and fiber. The fat in CopraPro is predominantly medium-chain fatty acids or triglycerides (MCTs). This form of fat does not disrupt the diet's omega-3 and omega-6 balance.
Additionally, it is more easily metabolized than long-chain fats providing your horse with a more readily available source of “cool” calories. The low starch and sugar content make CopraPro an excellent choice for our equine partners, especially those needing calories from a low NSC diet.
